Meet Dr. Keegan Mclean (Chiropractor)
Meet Dr. Keegan Mclean
Hi, I’m Keegan.
No matter where I am, Im thinking about how I’m moving.
Changing the way they people view and manage their own movement excites me.
Moving better, eating better, thinking better. These are all practices we can develop to gain a better understanding of personal growth and healing.
I started building a physiology and human movement background in Perth, at the University of Western Australia – one of the finest universities in Australia for this subject.
Then, when it was time for a sea change, I decided to move to Melbourne for a chance to really see what Chiropractic was all about.
I graduated with a distinction from RMIT in 2013 and since then have spent the majority of my time working in private practice throughout Australia – also spending some time, on placement, in India.
When I’m not practicing you’ll find me running around a local park or enjoying a good dance to some great music.
I love to travel – and have recently returned from North America, and Europe.

How long before I see results?
Based on your consultation, Dr. Keegan will determine if you are a good candidate for mobile care, and prepare an individualised plan for you. The factors considered are:
- Goals and objectives – what are you trying to accomplish?
- Severity of your problem – how much breakdown has occurred?
- Length of time it has persisted – is this a new injury or a chronic problem?
Because everyone is different, we will check in regularly and perform comparative examinations to make sure you are on the right track. Its OK to have a break from care too, we understand that things change and we often need time away, all you have to do is let us know.
After the initial phase of care, Dr. Keegan will be in a position to help you make new choices about your care going forward. The choice is yours. A common misconception is that once you see a chiropractor you have to keep going back. This is not in fact the case. Since our nervous system controls everything we do, it’s important to keep it running optimally. Just like eating well, exercising or meditating – if we can create good habits, we hope to help you become better equipped to deal with the stressors of everyday life.

What to expect during a visit?
What Can I expect?
Many people are often overwhelmed, and maybe even nervous, when visiting a chiropractor for the first time.
The first visit is all about learning where it all began – lasting about an hour for both the consult and the examination. Visits after the first, generally last between 30-60 minutes, develop and grow each session (building awareness on what areas need to focused on – with a range of take home skills and exercises).
With this being said, we want to make sure that you know EXACTLY what to expect so we have decided to go into greater detail below:
New Patient Forms
We encourage you to complete the NEW PATIENT FORMS prior to the first visit, this will save approximately 15-20 minutes. If for some reason you have any questions, you can email or note them down to go through during visit.
Instead of addressing “what” got you hear, Dr. Keegan looks at “why” this is happening in the first place. This is also known as finding the cause before creating a sustainable solution. Truly listening to patients so that he can understand what challenges your experience, how it is impacting your life, and then what we can do together in order to resolve this issue. He has the intention to help members understand how nerve system can affect your health.
At the conclusion of the initial health consultation, we will perform a number of assessments including palpation, postural assessment, and referring for any necessary additional studies (including any medical imaging).
Your condition might require x-ray analysis in order to truly assess where the challenge resides within your body. To get x-rays completed, Dr. Keegan will write out a referral to a local radiology clinic who will then digitally send Dr. Keegan a copy. X-rays provide us with an objective diagnostic tool, along with important information – such as the safety of adjusting in special cases.
Reexamination is vitally important, helping to obtain and objective and subjective picture of where you are in terms of your initial presentation. This will allow you to reach and possibly exceed your health goals (pain management, nutritional advice, exercise tips, strategies for stress relief, etc. can all be concerns for patients – we recognise that everybody is extremely unique and different – if referral is needed for anything we we make sure it happens!).
